McDonald’s Busking Championships
Festival Boulevard will be rockin’ with the McDonald’s Busking Championships at Parkes Elvis Festival.
The footpaths, street corners, cafés and shop fronts along Festival Boulevard become a stage for the brilliant array of talented, quirky and beginner artists who are performing for Festival fans passing by.
Learn moreBuskers must register and perform over at least two days of the competition for at least four hours (Juniors one hour) per day. The organisers will determine your performance area. Performances must be in the style of Elvis to be considered for the competition. There are Junior and Open Categories with great cash prizes on offer.
On arrival in Parkes, buskers are required to check in at Elvis Central (203 Clarinda Street, Parkes) with Kenny McGrath, the portfolio holder for this competition. Each busker will be issued with a poster that contains their busker number, and a corresponding lanyard with the same number. At this time, each busker will be told where they will be situated throughout the week.
Entrants are scored while performing in front of an audience between 3pm and 5pm on Saturday 11th January at the Royal Hotel.
Following judging, the top three buskers will perform for the title of McDonalds Busking Champion in the finals on the Cooke Park Main Stage on 1pm on Sunday.
