The HARS Parkes Aviation Museum is located at the end of Muzycuk Drive at Parkes Airport. It is currently houses in a former RAAF Bellman hangar from the airports time as a World War Two air force base. Come and see the largest aircraft on display in the Central West, including ex-RAAF aircraft like our De Havilland DHC-4 Caribou, Lockheed P2V-7 Neptune and recently retired Lockheed AP-3C Orion. You can also see a hard-to-find US Army Bell AH-1 Huey Cobra helicopter and several civilian types. Read about the units that served at RAAF Station Parkes during WWII, flying aircraft including the famous Spitfire and Mosquito.

Parkes has been used as a storage facility for the Historical Aircraft Restoration Society since 1975 and has evolved into an aviation museum thanks to a range of local and HARS volunteers.
