The Parkes Elvis Festival team are celebrating after taking out top honours at the 2020 Local Government Week RH Dougherty Awards on August 6th.
The Parkes Elvis Festival Communication Strategy was recognised for Excellence in Communication for our multifaceted communication strategy for the 2019 Festival.
What does that all mean? Good question! Our marketing plan was pretty awesome (if we do say so ourselves 😜) with some creative ways to attract new visitors via media coverage, on social media and our new website which had a bunch of additional features added to make it easier to navigate.
We were already celebrating and popping virtual champagne corks when Parkes Shire Council won the Innovation in Special Events for Council’s event activation for the 50th Anniversary celebrations of Parkes’ role in the Apollo 11 mission in July 2019. If you haven’t visited the CSIRO Parkes Radio Telescope or The Dish as locals call it. Get yourselves back to Parkes for a visit!
Our trophy room is getting rather full at the Parkes Elvis Festival headquarters. There is always room for more accolades for this wonderful Festival that our fans, performers, volunteers, sponsors, suppliers and the local community continue to enjoy.
