The new event sponsored by NSW Regional Government and the Bogan Gate Pub will house a collection of vehicles that has something for all car lovers with modern and period cars, road and race cars and some that will be seen for the first time.
A special Holden Dealer Team showroom will greet people as they enter the building at the corner of Clarinda and Mitchell streets Parkes with no less than 7 very special cars to have had the full HDT treatment, including the 2015 VF “Blue Meanie” collection in Sedan, Wagon and Ute configuration. It is the first time that the Anniversary Edition Commodores will be on display together, with the VE-VC, VF-VK group A and VF-VL Group A all being in attendance which will surely excite Holden lovers and all motor heads.
Keep your eyes peeled for the 1980 Marlboro Holden Dealer Team 05 VC Commodore, sure to be a crowd favourite as the King of the Mountain shares Parkes with the King of Rock and Roll. Also included in the HDT showroom will be a VK Group A, VE Interceptor and VF Champion Series Commodore. The Holden theme continues with a Walkinshaw Commodore and a HK Bathurst Monaro included in the display. Fans of the blue oval will also be pleased with the inclusion of such cars as a Moffatt Tribute Mustang along with a MK 1 GT40 and 1965 Shelby Cobra.
If you like European makes you have not been forgotten either with a beautiful racing Porsche GT3RS, 500 hp that does 0-100 in 3.2 seconds. And Peter O’Donnell’s BMW313i which has completed more laps of the famous Bathurst circuit than any other car and was last year’s Bathurst 6-hour winner.
As the name suggests, there will also be a collection of speedway cars including Sprint cars, modified sedans and even a 37 Ford Coupe Hot-rod Beach Racer. John Pizzaro, Australian Motor Sport Hall of Fame inductee, World and Australian Title winner has also allowed 3 of his karts to be on display. There are too many cars to name them all so come in and take a look, you never know who else might be onsite to talk with about motor racing and classic cars.
The Speedway Exhibit official opening will be at 11am on Wednesday, 20th April. Peter Champion from Holden Dealer Team Special Vehicles will be in attendance through the week to share from his wealth of experience in the motor vehicle and car racing area as well as his long friendship with Peter Brock.
World class Seattime car racing simulators as used by racing drivers, especially during last years lockdowns will also be a drawcard at the exhibition. People over the age of 12 will be able to book a timeslot via 123tix where they can choose to challenge for the fastest lap of the Elvis festival or test themselves on a wide range of other tracks available.
The Elvis shuttle bus service will have a stop in Mitchell Street right outside the entrance making getting to and from the exhibit very easy.
The Speedway Exhibit will be open from 9am – 5pm from Wednesday, 20th April to Sunday, 24 April 2022. The Speedway Exhibit is FREE.
