ShElvis

Sheryl was born and bred in Sydney NSW Australia quite a few years ago…

Whilst always interested in singing and music, Sheryl was a new comer to performing compared to many of her peers when she started. She has been singing professionally for 12 years. Sheryl has been specifically performing Elvis as her alter ego ShElvis® for about 7 years, both as a solo artist and with a great band called Cool River.

Sheryl is a registered nurse by trade and through the encouragement of close friends she started singing at clubs and private venues. She found that she really enjoyed having people smile, tap and sing along with her.

Sheryl would love it if she could make a total living from singing, however she works in Early Childhood Research as well as Uber Driving.

Singing Elvis seems to come naturally to Sheryl. She has been listening to his music, watching his films and concerts since she was 7 years old, and the music of her parents and relatives is reflected in the songs she sings. Sheryl is very much into the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s with a dash of 80’s & 90’s when a song grabs her.

Having an unusual depth to her voice and a surprising vocal range, which lends itself to the lower smoky tones of Elvis songs, has gained Sheryl an appreciative following and she loves seeing the change in people’s faces when she starts to sing.

Sheryl has had the privilege of singing with some great ETAs (Elvis Tribute Artists) such as Johnny Lee Memphis, Jack Gatto, Sean Luke Spiteri, Marcus Elvis Jackson, Nic King, John Elvis Collins, Paul Fenech, Allan Wright, Carmine Camillio, Terry Leonard to name a few.
