2010 Festival Media Releases

It has been 33 years since Elvis left the building, yet more than 9,000 Elvis fans will gather in the Central New South Wales town of Parkes to celebrate Elvis Presley's birthday in January. Record crowds are expected for the CountryLink Parkes Elvis Festival, to be held from 6 - 10 January 2010.

The Festival's events are held over a five day period with the program extending every year. Now more than 140 individual events are held during the festival. The 2010 Festival Program features 'Keno Feature Concerts' starring Mark Andrew, an Elvis Gospel Church Service, the famous Street Parade, free Elvis in the Park entertainment and various other novelty events such as the 'Back to the Altar with Elvis - Renewal of Wedding Vows', and the 'TransTank Miss Priscilla Dinner' along with other events such as a 'Cars of the Elvis Era Show' and 'ClubsNSW Elvis Poet's Breakfast.'

Official Festival Programs will be on sale from the end of October for $5, through the Parkes Visitor Information Centre.
