2011 Festival Media Releases

It will soon be 34 years since Elvis left the building, yet more than 12,000 Elvis fans gather in the Central NSW town of Parkes to celebrate Elvis Presley's birthday every January.

Record crowds are expected for the CountryLink Parkes Elvis Festival, to be held from 5 - 9 January 2011.

The Festival's events are held over a 5-day period with the program extending every year. Now more than 140 individual events are held during the festival. The 2011 Festival Program will feature the 'Keno Feature Concerts' starring Dean Vegas, an Elvis Gospel Church Service, the famous Street Parade, free Elvis in the Park entertainment and various other novelty events such as the 'Back to the Altar with Elvis - Renewal of Wedding Vows', and the 'TransTank Miss Priscilla Dinner' along with other events including the 'Cars of the Elvis Era Show' and 'ClubsNSW Elvis Poet's Breakfast.'

Official Festival Programs will be on sale from the end of October, through the Parkes Visitor Information Centre.
